Daw Technologies Inc. Announces New Project in Taiwan, R.O.C.
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1999--Daw Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:DAWK - news), has been awarded Phase 2 for a cleanroom project with a Taiwanese flat panel display manufacturer in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
The value of the contract is estimated in excess of $2.2 million and is scheduled for completion in late second quarter of this year. Daw Technologies completed the Phase I, 60,000 square foot cleanroom in 1996.
This contract amount represents an expansion of manufacturing space within an existing building that houses another Class 10 facility built by Daw. Some modifications to the existing fab are also contemplated as a part of this project.
''The Asia/Pacific Region is showing signs of renewed bidding and construction activity,'' stated Steven R. Burt, senior vice president of field operations. ''Although some specific customer manufacturing segments remain stalled in their plans to expand their manufacturing capabilities, other segments like flat panel display and hard disk drive manufacture continue to expand.
''With actual consumer production 18 to 24 months out from the start of construction of new projects, it appears that some manufacturers in diverse product lines are committing themselves to be ready for an expected increase in device demand.''
Daw Technologies Inc. provides ultra-clean manufacturing environments throughout the world and specializes in the design, engineering, manufacturing and installation of cleanrooms meeting stringent semiconductor manufacturing standards, eliminating particulate up to 1,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.
The company is also utilizing its manufacturing capability, such as its expertise in honeycomb panel technologies, to produce products for other, select industries.
The information discussed in the preceding paragraphs contains forward looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties that could result in actual results differing materially from those projected.
These risks and uncertainties could include, but are not limited to, the climate of the semiconductor industry, the timing of significant customer orders, product pricing pressures and challenges from competitors.
