bonds are doing a pretty nice imitation of a swan dive. Rates are going to go up whether the fed wants them to or not.

And the USD....I figure it has 12 pts to the downside before it finds a bottom. It is Snow's comments that leads me to believe that Bush is trying to be as non-interventionist as possible (from the conversation on the other thread). He stated pretty explicitely that he wanted the market to find the proper value for the USD. Some of the other crap he said about a strong dollar (not easily counterfeited, etc....) was just B.S. because people don't want to hear the real answer.

On the other hand, Bernanke's speech scared the hell out of me. The Fed officials don't seem to mention the downside of their printing activities.
