Another coalition member, albeit a small one has come to it's senses.

The new government is split over whether Norway should join the European Union -- a membership that Norwegian rejected twice in national referendums. The coalition has agreed to put that issue on hold.

The Socialist Left has also agreed to set aside its opposition to Norwegian NATO membership for the government's term.

The coalition has said it will pull its 20 Norwegian officers out of Iraq, but broad lines in foreign policy, such as the country's role as a peacemaker and major foreign aid donor, are expected to remain in place.
