I wouldn't suggest that you post this same post to Poet on the FADG thread. It could get ugly <g/ng> FWIW, you may be overstating things somewhat, but I understand your feelings.

BTW, I really liked your POV on the FADG thread from last friday about the intellectual crowd teaching at universities. FWIW, I've witnessed that attitude at a number of universities I've had the pleasure to attend or work over the yrs. Sort of a cult of personality that you don't dare want to cross. The experience certainly gave credence to the stereotype that, 'those who can, do....... those who can't, teach'. The scary part of my experience was that these folks are molding the minds of the next generation of young professionals.

Hopefully there will continue to be a large number of them who emerge as independently minded individuals.
