Hi vanj; there has been various steps to my day trading.First I started at my office, studied the stocks, read the gossiping on line and called my bank to buy and sell the stocks. Although I was lucky some times , it did not work well because I did not have control on the entrance and exit points and most of the times I was filled at the wrong price!! Besides it was very expensive.
The following step was to work trough an online broker. I tried first charles schwab which still was very expensive. Then I tried datek which was very economical but I gave up because I was still being filled at the wrong price and I observed that the margins were very small to afford being filled at the wrong price.
The next step was to get the nasdac level 2 and obtain a broker service to buy and sell trough this platform. this is not cheap but so far I think it is worth the price!
As I said I am still very new as a day trader and only have used the level 2 platform about 10 times, but it looks very promising...
All above process took me about 4 months but very intensive and time consuming reading books, manuals etc.
One of my first conclusions is that if you really want to make a living as daytrader it is an all time job. Although I have computers and connections both at the office and at home, I don't dare to make day trading (with real money) from the office because it demands 100% attention and you can not be interrupted.Now I am expending at least 3 times a week at home and next year I plan to leave my job.
