Kinross issued 4m shares to Wheaton for 70% when their stock was about $US 0.75
I do not think these properties are high on the Kinross agenda,
so it make sense to give up 60% to Miramar spending $C 25m over two years.

For awhile, I thought Kinross might have bought Miramar (after Echo Bay acquisition) to add to Nunavut properties. There is a connection. The folks at Dundee Bancorp (Goodman) were the folks who started Kinross back in 1993. Dundee Precious Metals was the largest holder of Hope Bay Gold, and is now the largest holder of Miramar (about 15%)
Optioning the properties to Miramar is like keeping them "in the family"
