About those ever growing tomatoes, don't think it really matters. I just let my plants do what comes natural (alhough I help with a little miracle grow and pinching suckers) and when the frost comes and there's lots of green tomatoes, just make the greatest green tomato chutney ever (recipe in the Joy of Cooking, and I don't do any fancy canning, its just great and easy). Or the easy thing, FRIED. Just let those tomatoes have a ball.

RE cats. They're the answer. But, did pour gasoline down a hole or two, then filled it in. No problemo.

Actually the cats are terrific, and entertaining. Watching them wrestle and play tag, and race each other up trees, is fun. Both are strays, and appreciate a full food bowl, saying thank you with all sorts of mice , voles, garden snakes (always put them back), birds (these I try to dis courage - even have scarlet tannager in the yard, and hummingbirds).

Feels like Sunday (yeah, I know it is)... warm, humid lazy day. Dull, happy brain. Tomorrow, market at 9:30. Time to wake up!

For today, let those tomatoes go!
