I just found out that @Home, the high profile cable internet access company, is moving into what used to be the Ampex campus in Redwood City. @Home plans to lease one building for $27.0 million over 10 years with several other buildings to be developed over the next few years. This bodes well for the repayment of the approximately $18.0 million in notes that Ampex holds as a result of the 1995 sale of its campus for about $36.0 million. If I recall correctly, AXC has one note for about $8.0 million coming due in December 1996 and another $8.0 million coming due in December 1997. FYI. This is probably not related to the price move today.
