When my friends lived on the big island of Hawaii,there was a crack-down that caused the economy to fall 25% almost over night. Here in California we're such a paradox: lots of ex-military types with their Polo shirts and crewcuts and an equal number of Jane Fonda/Tom Hayden wannabes with their save-the-whale stickers and fake fur coats. But whatever happened to Jane? Will the real Jane Fonda please stand up. . . Now if she and Ted would put their weight behind 211, it might go down in defeat---or at least confuse the hell out of identity-dependent voters. And then there's the Medicinal Marijuana Measure. . .
