While this is true, as you pointed out it is not being done. The original discussion was concerning how one runs Intel-NT compiled programs on non NT systems. Currently, the only way to do so is to emulate in one of several forms. This is inherently slow as software has not to date run as fast or faster than hardware. This is particularly true when you are talking native code in hardware vs. foriegn code in software.
