Intel to detail its 300-MHz MMX chip at conference

Intel Corp. will be describing a 300-MHz microprocessor with MMX multimedia extensions at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference in San Francisco in February. Intel reports that the device will have separate 16KB on-chip instruction and data caches and a dedicated L2 cache bus that supports multiple external cache
configurations, a description that closely matches that of the firm's forthcoming Klamath processor.
