Obama would be faced with a choice if he does not make it. One is to be drafted by the Clintons as the running mate and the second is to be part of the "Bloomberg" movement. I suspect that he would be pressured by his supporters (all who gave him the donations) to run on an Independent ticket. Joining him would be likes of Lieberman, Hagel etc.

There are also rumors floating around (possibly originating from the Clinton camp), that if there is a brokered Republican convention and "if Obama is the nominee" of the Democratic party, then there may be a draft Colin Powell movement. Mr. Powell will surely decline, knowing the fine character that he is.
