Thanks! Yes, I am not a market "player". In fact I hate playing the market so much that, initially, I used to hate anybody who played the market! Now, I am a little more tolerant of them. After all, it takes all kinds to make this world!

A rather easy way of ensuring a quality portfolio is to follow the strategy outlined in "The America's Finest Companies Investment Plan" by Bill Staton. At least that is what I use.

I intend to add JNJ, NUE, HWP, SIAL, PLL, JCI, WRE, AT to the list, dividing the whole set into two portfolios -- placing stocks with high-dividend yields in an IRA and those with low-dividend yields in a taxable account, and with each portfolio having not more than a dozen stocks at the most.
