If you're sure that your updates have caused the slowness problems you can always do the system restore to a point previous to the updates when the computer was running well. At some point in the future you can try downloading the updates again.

I'm not sure that I'd do that yet though.

Also SP2 can be removed if you have it...but I wouldn't try that yet either.
