It's obvious that Q4 will be excellent.

The die is already cast, so it's not worth discussing. The Alpha vs. PPro is important because 12 months from now NT will emerge as the dominant OS. PPro and Alpha are the dominant CPUs running NT, which is why the issue is important. If you're really sincere about your desire to focus on the long term, forget about Q4 (and Q1/97).

Think about competitors and markets for innovative new products, not short term market psychology. Nobody can successfully predict short term movements, anyhow.
