Yes, John, the Swedes are poorer and worst of all, they have no CDMA so they'll go backwards faster as mobile cyberspace powered by CDMA starts to rule the world.

It's not exactly warm there either. However, I did like what I saw there and the people I met. There's more to life than GNP per capita. South Central LA is ugly and horrible, as is north central, western, eastern and the rest of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is also going to be destroyed by the first decent inbound comet to splash down in the Pacific Ocean [due any time now]. Tokyo, Shanghai and a lot more besides will be a mess too. Los Angeles is barely above sea level so a fairly low percentile impact would do the job.

Bangalore is a great place - a kilometre high, warm, wet and tropical and therefore very resistant to damage from comets.

Lusk Boulevard [QUALCOMM's HQ] isn't too bad either with a bit of a cliff on the edge of the Pacific to reflect the more minor waves.
