Steve--Question on shorting vs. the box.

If you wanted to do this, could you buy puts (sell calls) on a long position (the obverse on a short)and get the same effect? Looks like you can. If you go only 1000 shares, you could easily get out of the position smacking a bid or lifing an offer on RAES (instant execution on 10 contracts), and I believe options don't have the same plus-tick rule. Let me know what you think about this.
