Funny SP, Check this out, an e-mail I sent a few days before the election in response to a friend asking what I thought would be the result, and its effect on the markets: here it is:
Hey G, Yes I know who will win, but first of all it don't matter much as I believe both Gore and Doubya are set to raise interest rates in order to jump start the economy. I gestimate it will come in early January and start with a .25 pt followed by another .25 in March. Though the polls show Bush ahead, I still feel Gore could accomplish more as his platform is broader and hits a wider appeal. Bush will infuriate at least half his supporters as his futile attempts of putting nay anything into law will easily be voted down and will almost certainly force him to move left if he wants to get anything done as the Democrats will certainly maintain control of the house. OK my predictions, are you ready for it, it will be a split decision, a tie, right down the middle. The balance of power will then come from a single vote. Scary thought the balance of power of the free world could be in the hands of a Canadian immigrant, thank G_d for the green card LOL... Lata, J |
