SOX update ............... U.S. TRADING SUMMARY: A rally in Wall Street stocks faltered at mid-morning as high tech issues failed to hold momentum after an early rebound. "We had a technical bounce in the techs after yesterday's sell-off and it was not so strong a bounce," said Hugh Johnson, chief investment officer at First Albany Corp. "This is far from a stimulating rally." Added Roy Blumberg, chief investment strategist at Josephthal Lyon & Ross, "This is one of those days when the Dow is up but the rest of the market is acting kind of sickly."
