>>I am not sure, I believe that management promised us major news on the Li-Polymer before the end of the first half<<

John Kavazanjian has repeatedly made that promise in every conference call over the last year and at the annual meeting. In addition the company has been putting that promise in recent press releases such as this one dated May 3rd, 2000.
biz.yahoo.com

From the press release.
Mr. Kavazanjian continued, ``The development of our rechargeable polymer battery product remains on track with our previous goals of being ready to ship a product into the marketplace before the end of June 2000. "

If the run up is due to them shipping and the news is leaking out, that would be good. If the run up is due to investors anticipating Kavazanjian will keep his oft repeated promise and he doesn't keep it, then the stock will be slaughtered. At this point it doesn't really matter too much to me whether they make much money on the aftermarket rechargeable or not, its a matter making a promise and keeping it for once. IMHO, if they don't have it out by the end of July, Kavazanjian can just go ahead and submit his resignation because his creditablity will be shot and no one will believe anything he says. One problem with Bruce Jagid, his predecessor, was that after a while no one believed him any more.
