Actually, Zinni is a very, very effective soldier/diplomat. I'm surprised Bush didn't make part of his ME team as he is extremely well-connected in an area where personal relations count for a lot. He might be getting his digs in for the Bushies' failure to make him part of the team. Next to McCain, I would say Zinni is probably the best guy Kerry could name as VP.
