12/31/14 Final Contest Update It’s Official: DEWDIL is the winner of the 2014 Biotech Stock Charity Contest!!! In a challenging year for smaller cap biotechs, DEWDIL’s portfolio finished the year with a remarkable 124.47% gain!!! Congratulations & Mazel Tov to DEWDIL!!!
DEWDIL picked the Macula Vision Research Foundation as his charity. He has noted the following: “MVRF is unusual insofar as they apply 100% of received donations to research grants for leading ophthalmologists. (The Foundation’s overhead expenses are funded by the founders from a separate source.)”
Here’s a direct link to where you can make a donation to MVRF: mvrf.org (If possible, please attribute your contribution to the 2014 Biotech Charity Contest.)
In past years, a few contestants have wanted to contribute to a charity I chose along with that of the winner’s charity (no obligation, of course). As I did last year, I’m choosing the East Bay College Fund as my charity. Here’s the link to their website: eastbaycollegefund.org (If possible, please attribute your contribution to the 2014 Biotech Charity Contest.)
Congratulations & Mazel Tov are also deserved by the No. 2 & No. 3 Contestants. In a race that went down to the wire, DIEGO’s portfolio, up 106.76% for the year, took second place & DOUGH’s portfolio, up 105.97% for the year, took third place. (DOUGH happens to be a top biotech Tweeter. You can follow him at: @dougheuringaria.)
