The big picture strategy has been to say that....... Subprime is contained.......... when proven not true it becomes....... the derivatives market is serving to dissipate risk by spreading it around the world, so there are a bunch of small hits, and no big ones.......... We aren't here yet, and they may never admit it, but the spreading of the risk through multiple levels of derivatives, far from dissipating risk, is spreading like a wild, uncontrollable weed so that it is everywhere. As Zappa says......... "So I'm watchin' and I'm awaitin' and hopin' for the best even think I'll go to prayin' every time I hear them say" ("More Trouble Every Day" off Roxy and Elsewhere CD) it's contained.
