Right on, Bearcatbob, I think that is the crux of it. Why would someone post to a thread that he does not hold shares in? The only time I can think of doing that, is when someone comes to a thread I'm on and asks a question pertaining to their stock. An example, on the St.Jude thread someone came over to make a comment and I answered and then he posted a question again. By this time I thought I had better go over to his thread lest the St.Jude investors get annoyed. Threads that are general topics are acceptable to post on because they are just that, general. When someone comes to a thread and starts panning the stock out of the clear blue, then you have to think they have an ulterior motive. I think we all get off the subject and talk about other stocks, even on this thread, but it is usually to point out some other stock or to discuss what is happening on another thread.

That's not to say that someone can not come over and ask some questions or post a comment, negative or positive, so long as it is a fact that he/she can back up. When you have someone who literally takes over a thread and blankets it with posts, it is no longer a normal, or in my mind, acceptable practice, and we should not have to put up with it. What Charters did here and on the NPA thread was nothing more than harrassment. He apparently posted 500 posts in the short time he was over there, literally drowning out other voices, and if they had the temerity to ask a question or make a comment they were usually treated to a volley of abuse. That is not discussion.

There are those who speak derisively about our "love-in" over here, and our general chatter which is sometimes just fun talk. Me thinks they are envious. The last time I looked there was nothing wrong with a bunch of people who can get along and can discuss other things, like what is our favorite beer, when there is no news. I, for one, have enjoyed all of it immensely and regard many people on this thread as friends although we have never met.

I am looking forward to a party with PFG threaders also, Bob, and to more good camaraderie as well as the serious stuff. I think we can have it all, friendship, discussions, debate, humour, peace, and information, combined with making money. Sounds like nirvana to me!

See you and take care.
