Actually, Bloomberg does not report when the trade occured (presumably a few weeks ago), but it is being reported for the first time today. This is the first day it can be reported.

My friend is actually an analyst, not a broker, but states that the information about the equipment push outs is new (within the week) and that it is significant. He says the information is verified through sources that would know.

Im not saying AMAT is a good company, Im saying that it is valued for accelerated growth. This happens to certain companies from time to time, and few if any of them really ever live up to it. Take for example Cisco and Iomega. It seems to me that the more capital intensive you are (AMAT), it becomes even harder to grow like this as one, two or three lost sales can really effect the bottom line.
