US DVD player sales up, 229.8% in latest week. I've been watching this. Year over year comparisons, got tough in Sept. Sept. kept pace though. Oct. will off pace, but only in the first two week's. This weeks ok.......................

Vital Statistics - 11/2/99

According to statistics from CEMA, for the week ending Oct. 22, 1999, DVD player sales to dealers continued to rise to 112,863, a 229.8 percent increase from 1998 and projection television sales were tremendous as well totaling 36,162, a 46.5 percent increase. Month-to-date sales aren?t as lucrative with DVD player sales at 184,194, a 168.7 percent increase and projection television sales at 76,175, a 9.8 percent increase. Overall, year-to-date DVD player sales are still phenomenal at 2,557,552, a 309.7 percent increase from 1998 and projection television sales at 887,057, an 11.9 percent increase. With the holiday shopping season rapidly emerging, DVD players are well on the way to surpass the three million mark!
