Chief analyst for Cowen & Co, Pardilla, was on CNBC this morning. He rates AOL as a strong buy. He talked about how they were the premiere on line services provider and that early signs of internet revenue streams (advertising) were ahead of expectations. I don't believe any of this.

Internet advertising will be priced on value to the advertiser. I would like to get opinions on the true value to a banner advertiser.

Secondly, I think internet value comes from communities of users, like SI. What communities doed AOL host that it owns. Motley Fool has cloned itself on Yahoo, does the AOL site have any added value? Games have migrated to their own sites I understand. What are the other areas that have value??
