I've been a w10 "Insider" for 7 months and it installed all the new builds when they became available and has a revert back to prior OS feature on every build. It kept all my programs and I never had to format and install everything from scratch, although that option is available.
You will be asked if you want a clean install and keep nothing or keep everything. The last build 10240 is ready for prime time and I "will" get the FREE w10 while the getting is good. The pricing later on will be $111 for the Home Version and $150 for the Pro Version.
I've been using Windows since V3.0 back in 1995 and paid for every new Version over the years and "YES" I will be among the first to get it for FREE, if you're running w7 or w8.
It has been my experience to get the new versions as soon as possible, the more time you have to use it, and get it over with and not wait until later.
