The Emporer Hath No Pants! AOL Hath no Profits! $385 one time charge from all the past marketing expenses that were deferred. Then, there is the $400 million ad campaign that started last month which will be reflected in the 4Q too.

Associated Press States, "The company, which unveiled an advertising blitz last month, said the 1996 impact would be a charge of $400 million in the 3 & 4 quarters to pay for recent marketing expenses."

All these cute commercials and the massive bombardment of five AOL 3.0 disks to every home in America is gonna cost you shareholders DEARLY! A hint to all you longs. How long is it going to take until you longs realize that these "one time charges" are perpetual charges that will haunt AOL into next year!
