Not exactly. They just need to communicate IPC parity to the layman. I guess I've come around to the PR rating as a feasible strategy, tho I detest it in principle. I simply can't think of a more effective way to present performance to the general public.

AMD desperately needs 0.13 to come sooner than later to reduce costs and increase Mhz.

They should be alright provided they don't slip anymore. A 1.5 GHz pally will be competitive with the 2.0 GHz P4.
