i've always been against obama. i was only slightly less against the rino mccain. i believe that our government has been captured like most of its major institutions (SEC, HUD, FANNIE & FREDDIE etc., etc.).

most of the politicians have been captured by the lobbyists. that's why we need to vote out most incumbents. it takes work, time and money to capture politicians. the newly elected will have to be bought, and i'm sure the lobbyists hate the thought of that. we could make the special interests guys life a hell if we could get term limits.

we need some leaders to recognise that there are only two legitimate roles for the federal government.

1. protect the property, rights and freedoms of its citizens from foreign and domestic enemies. and that doing so fosters an economically strong country with good morals. for this reason i favor a very strong national defense.

2. issue national currency. i really don't know how to set up a fail safe way to do that though. i sure wouldn't want pelosi in charge of issuing currency. but i damn sure don't want a private bank like the FED to do it either. we need a stable strong currency to conduct business. when business flourishes people get good paying jobs easily.

every time the government gets involved in a free market (always to try to 'do good') it distorts the market which is always bad. too bad that most economists these days don't believe that simple principle.

looks like i've found a place to 'rant'. :)
