The problem with the Liberal philosophy has been with the intellectuals embracing everyone that wears the Liberal label. This has created a lot of opportunites for the various branches of the conservative philiosophy/philosophers to spew out a lot of venom against Liberals - as many of the people the Liberals try to protect are real jerks.

Similarly, the conservative philosophy/philosophers now embrace practically everyone that wears that label.

As a result there are now a lot of hate mongers who hide behind the conservative label.

Neoconservativism adds whole layers of compexities to the situation as they advocate deadly force for the "greater good".

It is a difficult task to justify use of deadly force to begin with, but now the rationale for its use is less stringent and that opens the door for all kinds of deadly abuse.

Even soccer moms can now come out and advocate, without any shame, that they think certain types or categories of people should be eliminated with extreme prejudice. This scares the hell out of me.

They cry over fetuses that are aborted (as they should), but they think nothing of having fully grown people exterminated.
