How does this work if you have two brokers and have the same stock in both? For example: You buy 100 shares IBM on Jan 1 with broker A..and buy 100 shares of IBM on Feb 1 with broker B. If you sell from Broker B can you still use FIFO and apply the gain or loss to the stock that still exists in Broker A?? or do you use FIFO seperately for each broker account?
