Why don't you blame Aldrich Ames and James Walker on him also? There are delegation of security matters as was the case with the running of the research labs. There's simply no excuse for transferring the licensing of sensitive technology to a politicized department of the government on the behest of campaign boosters, or for willy-nilly declassifying all the weapons secrets in the DOE. Try again, dimwit. There's a big difference between direct cuplability and the failure of those much lower in the hierarchy. Funding the Contras beats having to go to war to protect the KLA, another US funded operation. As far as weapons for hostages, apparently, Carter's administration was also involved in trading arms for hostages prior to the 1980 election.
