Inco probably paid too much for Voisy Bay although they probably will
eventually control the nickel market. Their contract with the Sudbury
workers expires this year. The miners are talking strike unless they
get what they want. They think INCO needs all the cash flow that they
can generate to pay for the Voisy Bay development. Voisy Bay will be no bed of roses either. The Inuit will want all that they can get. The
environmentalists will also be very active. Meantime the price of nickel has not been very strong. The writer who said that it could drop to $30 may not be very wrong unless a) no strike b)most important..increase in nickle price b) quick settlement of Voisy Bay problems. I bought Falconbridge and guess what...it has dropped several dollars lately.
