Are any chart analysts looking at this thread? The current VAR chart looks like a 2:1 split occurred today. Of course, we know that there was no split but that the stock lost 20-some points due to the spinoff of the other new Varian companies - similar to a major ex-dividend price effect.

Now my question: If you are charting VAR, do you just throw the old chart away and start fresh like an IPO? Or do you adjust previous prices by today's "loss"? Of course, my software, like most others, allows split adjustments to the chart, but not constant offsets as should be required by a dividend distribution. What are the experienced chartists doing to their VAR charts?
