What I've been up to:

I've got term deposits, gic's, banker's acceptances, etc, at Canadian banks, for large amounts, at one year terms, generally yielding 4.85%. For example, when $100000 pays $4850 after one year and the principal is intact, it rocks baby!

I'm also a lender on two mortgages. It is administered by a trustee on my behalf (for a small annual fee). The lendee makes weekly payments, and the money is deposited in my account weekly. No subprime here baby. Lendee has 80% equity. I've had this arrangement for years. I'm charging an interest rate of 7.2% (semi-annual compounding). Its all done in my retirement account ..tax free too.

I've started mastering the phrase "cash purchase price". Got a 22% price reduction on the purchase price of my new vehicle when I paid for it in cash.

The economy of the 1970's is back baby! Embrace it and make money!
