Mike, we are in total agreement. I have cirrhosis of the liver and was also given only five years to live. Funny that they are stuck on the same length of longevity. I, likewise, was given a long list of dietary restrictions, medications, etc. It soon became apparent that, all I had to do, was stop drinking booze as if it was going out of style. The liver has been impaired but, as long as I take the diuretics to prevent fluid retention, and stay off booze, my liver is, actually, improving, though at a slow rate. When in the hospital, I listen to the doctors "suggestions" but do not consider them orders.
There is not time enough for me to give my dissertation on, in patient, nurses in the wards and rooms of the hospitals. They required an attitude adjustment, big time.
