The gas masks were used to avoid the smell of the armored SCUDs (Saddams Camel Ultimate Delivery system) which stink almost as much as George Bush's rationale for getting into this conflict. I won't honor it by calling it a war, since the Iraqis had no real way of responding to our pre-emptive attacks. No Air Force, no missiles, NADA, except a few thousand camel jockeys.

Now North Korea is another story. I'd like to see us try them on for size. George can lead the way, after all, he does know how to 'fly'. What a joke.
