Craig, I agree completely. It's hard to see the benefit to AOL. The more AOL becomes like every other ISP, the less value this overpriced balloon has.

Here's a theory. Soon, AOL will have to pay $$$ to worldcom when AOL users languish online for hours using AOL chat.

Look for AOL to discourage connections over their contracted networks, and encourage use of the Bring Your Own Access plan and/or low bandwidth tools like AIM.

BTW, great call Craig. AOL closed up today 4 points.
