but with the dated naming (which is also sequential)so there is an indication of when the DI was done and whats in it.

They do not sort sequentially with a default name sort. Either way you can sort by date as Explorer has a date sort option and the files have a date viewable tag.

If you are using a file manager to look at a lot of files (which I admit will not happen with LARGE Drive Image files until we get those terrabyte drives) it is easy to spot missing files with a number sequence. (Do not start with one, start with 101 or 1001 as 101 will name sort before 2.

I started having problems with date names when I created more than one Image on the same day. Some were Win95 and others Win98. I kept trying to change my naming conventions to adapt.

Things must be slow, file names are about as interesting as the weather<g>
