Engineer, Re: VZN / Sprint phone / plans- thanks for the info.

While at Costco this AM, I stopped by the wireless booth (VZN, Sprint, T-Mobile). The lady appeared to be very informed of both the Vzn and Sprint products.

+ They expect Sprint of offer the Treo700 (EV-DO) soon (month or little longer).

+ The Sprint unlimited data plan is much cheaper than Vzn (she uses Sprint), $10-$15 plus the voice plan ($29/ month for 400 minutes). Looks like Sprint’s cost would be $40-$45, whereas VZN would be $100/ month (40 + 60).

+ She said she can’t understand why anyone would opt for VZN once Sprint get the Treo700 on the shelves.

+ Sprint does not officially support the phone use as a modem for the laptop, but many use it that way by buying the connector equip and software from Radio Shack. She said it’s easy to set-up.
