That's the understatement of the year!

About the RBOCs moving ahead quickly... I think they will. I also think the ADSL vendors have a big stake in this... If xDSL isn't deployed quickly Adtran, Westell, Amati, Aware and Pairgain will pay dearly. They aren't stupid. They know the concerns on the RBOC side vis a vis the end to end infrastructure & NMS etc. They will address these in some cases on their own and when they can't with alliances. They have to position the whole thing in such a way that the RBOCs can't say "but this or the other isn't there"... anyhow, that's my take & that's how I would deal with it if I was in charge...

The future is the NET... NET means bandwidth... If it's clear to us, are we to believe they are stupid?

Now, having said all of that, Rupert has a point as well... you can't have a baby with 9 women in a month...;)... Favorite line used by techies when management (who didn't have a clue) wanted to throw more bodies into a project to get there faster...
