Intel (INTC) 31 3/8: -- Update -- Lehman Brothers analyst Dan Niles downgrades Intel to MARKET PERFORM from BUY. Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 32 13/16 +1 7/16 (+4.6%): Sanford Bernstein believes that SUNW is most exposed to a downturn in IT spending, given its unique exposure to hardware. PC Consolidation : Bear Stearns' Ripple Effect reporting that analyst Andrew Neff arguing for consolidation in the PC industry -- his suggested combinations are for Dell (DELL) to buy IBM's (IBM) PC business and Gateway (GTW), Hewlett (HWP) to buy Compaq (CPQ), and Apple (AAPL) to drop PowerPC and go to Intel (INTC) chips.
