The left SEES something the right doesn't.

It is a matter of perception. And you are right it doesn't always correlate with education or even IQ. It seems to be a way of understanding.

I have spent my entire life since college pondering this one question: "why are some people liberal and other conservative? I noticed many very smart people were also very conservative which really puzzled me as I also could see they were dead wrong on most social issues e.g. racism, sexism, gays and most importantly simple modern thinking.

I still don't understand it, but you can see it in the statistics I keep posting about scientists.

80% of scientists lean democratic and only 6% are Republicans. The reason is that scientists are trained to find the truth of things and the pubs are wrong on so many basic issues like evolution.

Half of pubs do not believe in evolution. Most of the last presidential pub nominee's didn't.

All scientists know evolution is fact, like the earth being round.
