Well put.....
And of course Intel has always had a very aggressive internal R&D program (this costs money). I'm sure that Intel has been letting the money flow into these programs at record rates over the last 12 months...and plans on increasing this as well.

Also Intel's successful jump into Networking is a very smart move, and I expect that R&D here is at an all time high.
