what if we are facing an imminent Ice Age, but global warming is forestalling it?

That is what makes me a skeptic about taking expensive measures to cut CO2 emissions. Another is that we will drastically reduce CO2 emissions anyway within the century, because we are running out of easily mined fossil fuels, and renewable technology is rapidly becoming competitive. Nuclear is already here, clean, competitive and safe -- see France. Spending trillions to advance CO2 emissions reduction by 40 or 50 years seems insane to me.

By the way, we are in an Ice Age, and what we have been enjoying in the last 10,000 years is a brief interlude. The question is how long before the ice sheets expand again. That should be mankind's long term worry.
