I don't think "American" cars are necessarily the best in the world. Though "American" cars means something other than what you probably think it does. I'm sure a Toyota or BMW or Honda or ... made in America is equal to one made anywhere else and a GM or Ford auto made in America is as good as one made outside the US.

Being a poorly informed liberal, you may not know foreign car companies make cars here and the big Detroit companies in turn make a lot of cars abroad.

I don't say American health care is the best in the world because I'm nationalistic. I think its best because our system isn't totally socialized like many countries are. I know our cancer survival rates are generally superior to other nations. Also I know the UN ranks the US health care system #1 in responsiveness, which is what counts when you're sick. And I know serious academics have said the US is #1 in life expectancy when you adjust our and other countries statistics for homicides and traffic fatalities. So I have good reasons for my opinions.
