New Britbox offering "Code of Silence" has shades of "Astrid/Patience" as a deaf lunchroom worker at a police station is called on to lip-read some surveillance videos and, of course, ends up enmeshed in the whole case. Well done so far. The "Grantchester" writing room needs to decide that they have worn out the personal soap opera angstie story lines for each and every cast member and just get back to murder mysteries. You know, the point of the show to begin with. "Hope Street" went down that same icky path until we dropped it.
