quidditch,

I've had quite a few of my biotech holdings munched. I've kept the JNJ that I got from AZA, and so far have held the MRK from RSTA, but the latter has mostly been a tax-driven strategy - I'll likely sell the MRK next year. Most of the others I've started out intending to hold but then at some point got impatient with them and sold.

I prefer to get my stability by holding a basket of biotechs of my own choosing rather than by holding pharma. So I'm generally not that pleased by the munches although sometimes they do bail me out of a losing investment (like with my few shares of CORR).

My biotech holdings tend to get concentrated in the tier with valuations north of $750m, and this is also the sector most susceptible to munches. However, I think there will always be enough decent companies left to maintain a sizeable basket. If there aren't I'll just have to move further down the food chain to some smaller companies (and follow what Rick does even more closely).

Peter
